We understand the emotional challenges and responsibilities that caregivers face. We are here to guide you with kindness, provide relevant information, and explore delicate themes related to caregiving, such as burnout, guilt, housing options, and the necessary boundaries to maintain your equilibrium.
Whether you prefer an in-person meeting, video conference, or phone call, our flexible options adapt to your needs and preferences. You can rely on us as the gateway to all services offered to caregivers.

Our training is designed to help you better understand common consequences of a stroke. We accompany you through six essential themes: cognitive, language, physical, energy-related, perceptional, and emotional changes. This will enable you to better navigate daily life as a caregiver.
Additionally, we believe in the importance of educating you about Primary Progressive Aphasia (PPA), a neurodegenerative disease distinct from stroke. Our goal is to equip you with valuable expertise to address this unique reality.
Our support group is dedicated to those who dedicate time, support, and care to a person affected by PPA or who has survived a stroke with or without aphasia.
By joining our group, you’ll find a warm and enriching environment for exchange. You can share your experiences, learn from other caregivers, and find valuable mutual support. Together, we’ll address situations and challenges that resonate with you, providing a solid community.
Our meetings take place in person in our premises, in a setting of trust and kindness. ion.
Our stimulation respite service offers you a well-deserved moment of tranquility. You can take time for yourself, recharge, and relax serenely.
This service is specially designed to offer you a structured and stimulating experience. Tailored individual activities are offered during sessions lasting 1 to 1.5 hours. These privileged moments strengthen the trust bond between the caregiver and your loved one, facilitating their integration into the organization.
Sessions can take place at home, in a familiar and reassuring environment. It’s a precious opportunity to prevent deconditioning and maintain the recipient’s progress.
Our lectures are open to the general public and address various settings such as libraries, community organizations, residences, workplaces, educational institutions, and families. Our goal is to raise awareness and inform the public about essential topics such as caregiving, stroke, aphasia, and PPA.
During these lectures, we address relevant and crucial themes aimed at better understanding the challenges and realities experienced by affected individuals and their caregivers. We aim to create collective awareness and foster empathy toward those impacted by these situations.
LÀ POUR TOI : A Compassionate Vigil Respite for Caregivers
At AVC Aphasie Laurentides, we understand the challenges and responsibilities that caregivers face. That’s why we’ve created the LÀ POUR TOI service, a vigil respite dedicated to your well-being and personal growth.
This precious service offers you the opportunity to take time for yourself, recharge, and focus on your own needs and activities. While you take this time for yourself, our qualified caregiver will attentively ensure the well-being of your loved one, making sure they are safe and providing them with loving companionship.
When you call on the services of LÀ POUR TOI, our caregiver can also supervise or accompany your loved one during activities of their choice, creating moments of mutual fulfilment. The type of activity may be subject to evaluation for availability, safety, or other reasons.
This respite service is specifically aimed at caregivers in the Thérèse-De Blainville RCM, Rivière-du-Nord RCM and Deux-Montagnes RCM whose loved one is semi-autonomous. We understand that you need valuable support to help you recharge your batteries and take care of yourself. That’s why this service is entirely free.
A block of 2 to 3 hours per week is specially reserved for you in the Basses Laurentides and MRC Rivière-Du-Nord.
