A stroke is a disruption of blood circulation in a part of the brain caused by the blockage or rupture of a blood vessel. Nerve cells then die, deprived of oxygen and essential nutrients. There are different types of strokes: embolic stroke, thrombotic or ischemic stroke, hemorrhagic stroke, and arterial spasm. The consequences of a stroke can be severe and affect various aspects of daily life. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Aphasia is a communication disorder that occurs following brain damage caused by a stroke, head injury, or tumor. The ability to speak, understand, read, or write is reduced or lost, while intelligence remains intact. People with aphasia may have difficulties finding words, reading, writing, and understanding the meaning of words. Their responses may be limited to yes or no. Aphasia impacts not only the affected individual but also those around them. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
