It represents an important voice in the construction of a more inclusive, egalitarian, and democratic society.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>ACA is built upon the mobilization of citizens to address the specific needs and challenges of their community.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>And yet&#8230;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The 8 criteri<em>a<\/em> of <em>a<\/em>utonomous community <em>a<\/em>ction<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The first four criteria apply to all community action organisations:\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Have non-profit status<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Be rooted in its community<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Maintain a democratic and associative life<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Be free to determine its mission, orientations, approaches, and practices.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>There are four additional criteria for autonomous community action organizations (ACA):<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>They must have been set up on the initiative of people in the community.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Pursue a specific social mission that promotes social change<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Demonstrate civic-minded practices and broad approaches, focusing on the global nature of the issues addressed<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Be governed by a board of directors that is independent of the public network<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Autonomous Community Action (ACA) is a dynamic and participatory form of civic engagement focused on the needs and aspirations of local communities.
